They are a bit more money but most can cut with or without coolant depending on blade, save space, and cut faster and straight. I've used a hogh speed chop saw for years before getting a good miter band saw. The chop saw is noisy, dusty and throws sparks everywhere.

Apr 23, 2021 Aluminum-cutting saw blades have a special grade of carbide [1] and can have teeth counts of anywhere between 60 – 200, depending on how thick the material is and how smooth you want your cuts to be. I use lower teeth counts for thicker material; 8 teeth per diameter inch (TPD) up to ¼” thick aluminum sheets and a blade with 6TPD for even thicker aluminum.
Jan 01, 2018 graphic of chop saw states 1800 maximum rpm. my chop saw runs at nominal 3600 rpm. believe this blade is not safe to run a 3600 rpm because of tip speed, 2639 in\sec. Aluminum speciality supply where I get AL uses an abrasive cutoff wheel, resulting in more melting than actual cutting.
A Miter saw is not the best tool to cut steel with, however, with the correct blade, a miter saw can cut steel. You will yield better results using a cut-off saw or a chop saw with an abrasive wheel. When cutting steel with a miter saw ensure you watch out for sparks.

Rigid pipe can be cut with such PVC pipe and tube cutters as hacksaws, power miter saws and scissor-type cutters, but ratchet-style cutters tend to strike an effective balance of affordability, flexibility and ease of use.. With a hacksaw, slowly draw the blade back and forth, making sure that the cut is straight.Reduce speed near completion to provide a clean cut at the end.

May 28, 2020 The main difference between a chop saw and a miter saw is that a miter saw can rotate and produce angled cuts (or 'miters' hence the name). Chop saws only cut straight, 90-degree angles. Most often used with abrasive metal cut-off wheels, chop saws are hardy machines that will cut through just about anything.

The Chop saw is a great way to cut steel with straight / square cuts (and most angles). The circular saw is more maneuverable, cheaper and smaller than a Chop saw.
The best thing you can do, if you have the budget, is to get a metal cutting saw such as a chop saw. Your chop saw will spin at a lower RPM that's ideal for cutting metals. A miter saw spins faster to get through wood, and all that speed could spell trouble if it is used to cut into metals.
